Uttaranchal University has been acknowledged by the UGC by sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956, as well as by other state and federal statutory organizations. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has awarded the University the esteemed "A+ Grade" in its accreditation. In the first accreditation cycle, Uttaranchal University became the first academic institution in the state of Uttarakhand to achieve an A+ grade from the NAAC.
